Freda Gunnoe
Nov. 21, 1953 - March 5, 2014

BRISTOL — Freda “Gail” Gunnoe, 60, of Bristol, passed away Wednesday, March 5, in her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Nov. 21, 1953, in Charleston, W.Va., to Fred and Nettie (McNeely) Gunnoe.

Surviving are her life partner and best friend, Tressa Miller of Bristol; daughter Mona (Jim) Jellyman of Niles, Mich.; three grandchildren, Amanda Spivey and Morgan Jellyman, both of Florida, and Nic Martin of Niles, Mich.; two great-grandsons Mason and Benjamin Spivey, both of Florida; parents Fred and Nettie Gunnoe of Bristol; and sisters Ann (Jim) Gwinn of Elkhart, Pam (Harry) Owen of Richmond, Va., and Donna (Jeff) Brown of Angola.

Gail worked for 18 years for the Indiana Toll Road, which became ITR Concession Co. She was a 1972 graduate of Elkhart Central High School and an avid Notre Dame fan.

Gail loved to camp and spend time with her campground family and friends at the Covered Bridge Campground in Marcellus, Mich., where she enjoyed fishing, laughing and enjoying life with the people she loved the most. She was always helping others and will be missed by her dog, Butters.

Services celebrating Gail’s life will begin at 1 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Terry Powell of Bristol Missionary Church will officiate. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow the services.

The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for the loving kindness and care Gail received. Online condolences may be sent to www.billingsfuneralhome.com.
