OSCEOLA — Joan Maxine Zillmer, 82, of Osceola, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, after a long illness.
Joan was born March 10, 1931, the daughter of the late Phillip and Fern (Herrold) LaVoie.
Joan was a life member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 308 of Osceola and VFW Auxiliary 8972. She was a member of Clark Memorial Church of Elkhart.
Joan enjoyed horseback and trail riding for 30 years while living at the foot of Superstition Mountains in Apache Junction, Ariz. She loved animals her whole life.
She is survived by one son, Daniel P. Hull of Griffith; sisters Phyllis Norris of Osceola and Connie (Charles) Gilmore of Eureka, Kan.; brother Robert (Janet) LaVoie of Jacksonville, Fla.; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
She is also survived by her niece, Starr Gordon of Fort Myers, Fla., and four great-nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 3, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, in the funeral home. The Rev. Mardell Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
