ELKHART — Willie E. Honey, 75, died unexpectedly Friday morning, Feb. 14, in the emergency room at IU Health Goshen Hospital.
He was born Feb. 5, 1939, in Busy Corner, Ark., to Ellis and Mary Otho (Hodge) Honey.
On July 18, 1959, he married Ellen White in Elkhart.
She survives along with four children, Roxane Honey of Elkhart, Sharon (Lawrence) Brooks of Saginaw, Mich., and Connie (Dennis) Swathword and Willie E. (Tammy) Honey, both of Elkhart; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and sister Norine (George) Skelton of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Christina Honey; five brothers, Carl Junior, Ross, Harice, Sydney and Charlie Honey; and sister Louise Slabaugh.
Mr. Honey retired in 2001 as foundry supervisor from Adams Westlake, Elkhart. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and his family.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Tim Sheets of Northside Church of the Nazarene, Elkhart, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen.
