LAGRANGE — Florence A. Notestine, 96, of LaGrange, died Sunday, Dec. 22, at home.

She was born July 21, 1917, in Milford Township, LaGrange County, to Willard Leroy and Jennie Byrdena (Wehrly) Howe.

On Dec. 11, 1941, in LaGrange, she married Herman T. Notestine. He died Dec. 27, 1971.

A brother, Lawrence Russell “Bud” Howe, predeceased her.

Her nieces, Sue (John) Clifton, Jean (Stan) Hunter, Julia (Bruce) Eagleson of LaGrange, Jane (Bill) Dickie, Maryellen Johnson, Marlene (Paul) Carper, Deb (Randy) Simon and Martha Howe; nephews Larry (Grace) Spero, Stan (Deb) Notestine and Mike (Kelly) Howe, all of LaGrange, Steve (Sharon) Notestine, Patrick (Cathy) Adams and Duane, Donald (Janet) and Mark (Lisa) Howe; and several great-nieces and great-nephews survive.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, in Prairie Heights High School Auditorium. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, in the auditorium. Burial will be in Brighton Cemetery, Howe.

Memorials may be made to Howe-Notestine Scholarship at the high school.
