ETNA GREEN — Laura Slabaugh, 73, of Etna Green, died surrounded by her family in her residence at 6:12 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013. She battled cancer for three years.
Laura was born to the late Emery E. and Fanny (Chupp) Miller on July 25, 1940, in Marshall County.
She married John H. Slabaugh on Dec. 1, 1960, in Etna Green.
Laura lived her lifetime in this area and was a member of Old Order Amish Church.
Mrs. Slabaugh is survived by her husband, John H.; sons Marlin (Arlene) Slabaugh and Norman (Mary Esther) Slabaugh, both of Etna Green; daughters Regina Kay (Dennis E.) Schmucker and Janita Lynn Slabaugh, both of Etna Green; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers Marvin (Elizabeth) Miller of Nappanee and Herman (Ada) Miller and Earl (Edna) Miller, both of Bourbon; and sisters Lydia (Eldon) Stutzman of Warsaw and Alma Miller of Nappanee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Raymond, Edward and Emery Jr. Miller; and sisters Mary Ellen Kuhns, Wilma Yoder and Erma Miller.
Family and friends may call all day Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at the family residence, 8912 W. 600 N., Etna Green. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at Devon Schwartz’s residence, 8099 N. 800 W. Home Ministry of Old Order Amish Church will officiate. Burial will be in Graber Cemetery.
