OSCEOLA_ Larry Ray Jackson, 69, passed away at 5:05 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born March 25, 1944, in Fairfield, Ala., to Jimmy and Ora “Shorty” (Donaldson) Jackson. On May 6, 1978, he married Nina Charlene Hartzog.

She survives along with one son, Daniel Jackson, and one daughter, Judith (John) Miller, both of Mishawaka; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Jimmy G. (Toni) Jackson of Mishawaka and Gary (Nila) Jackson of Osceola; and his mother, Ora “Shorty” Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Jackson.

Larry was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired as a millwright from Bendix, which is now Honeywell. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Mishawaka. He enjoyed being on the computer and watching birds.

A celebration of life gathering will be from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at Mr. G’s in Osceola. Cremation has taken place.
