SHIPSHEWANA — Eli C. Troyer, 70, of Shipshewana, died at 9:03 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.

He was born June 9, 1943, in Topeka to Crist and Susie (Yoder) Troyer. On April 7, 1966, he married Ruby M. Miller, who survives.

Also surviving are five daughters, Susie Beechy, Wilma Hochstetler, Leora Hochstetler, Marlene Lehman and Esther Miller; four sons, Howard Troyer, Vernon Troyer, Crist Troyer and David Troyer; 28 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; a great-granddaughter; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Andrew Troyer and Levi Troyer; and four sisters, Lydia Ann Kauffman, Mary Schrock, Amanda Miller and Fannie Troyer.

He was a farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, and all day Monday, Nov. 18, at the family home, 6395 W. 200 N., Shipshewana. The funeral will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Roy Yoder home, 6555 W. 200 N., Shipshewana. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery.

Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, is in charge of arrangements.
