NAPPANEE — Nancy J. (Schroeder) Miller, 81, passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, in her home, of natural causes and dementia.
Nancy was born Sept. 22, 1932, in Goshen to Homer and Fern (Darr) Schroeder.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clare D. Miller; one daughter, Kathy L. Miller; and four brothers, Stan Schroeder, Richard (Betty) Schroeder, Wayne Schroeder and Phil Schroeder.
Surviving are her sisters, Virginia (Dick) Wysong and Marge (Doug) Lung; her daughters, Becky (Steve Behr) Miller of Nappanee and Diane (Skip) Niemier of Osceola; sisters-in-law Martha Schroeder and Charolette Schroeder; and her cats, Toby and Sam, whom she loved dearly.
Nancy went to New Paris High School.
She married Clare Miller on Feb. 24, 1956.
They lived and raised their family in Nappanee for the remainder of her life. Nancy was a devoted housewife and mother. She loved raising her daughters, quilting, sewing, canning, cooking and taking vacations. She was very supportive of her family and friends and always put others before herself.
Nancy was a perfect mother. Becky and Diane will always love and miss her. She was a mother and friend. Her legacy will live on in everything everyone learned from her.
Nancy is finally at peace with her husband, daughter, parents and brothers.
Family will greet friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. Service and burial arrangements are pending.
