ELKHART — Doris J. Wilson, 84, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, in her home.

She was born May 12, 1929, in Elkhart to Charles and Margaret (Fetters) Deckard.

On Dec. 15, 1949, in Niles, Mich., she married Mahlon H. Wilson.

He survives along with four children, Paul (Linda) Wilson, Linda (Dennis) Kleitz, Charles (Sylvia) Wilson and Janet (Kevin) Young, all of Elkhart; six grandchildren, Tammy Butler, Jennifer (Adam) Horn, Brian (Melissa) Wilson, Angela Cummins, Lindsey (Travis) Andrews and Allison (Randy) Williams; and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Thomas (Nancy) Deckard of Vicksburg, Mich., and her dear friend, Betty Beck of Elkhart.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Doris graduated in 1947 from Elkhart High School and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed watching birds. Doris was employed as a secretary at Miles Laboratories from 1947 to 1950 and was church secretary at St. Paul's United Methodist Church from 1966 to 1985.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Pastor Tom DeFries from St. Paul's United Methodist Church will preside. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery.
