GOSHEN — Ned C. Hostetler, 79, of Goshen, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2013.
He was born March 3, 1934, in Elkhart, the son of the late Paul and Marcella (Ulery) Hostetler.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Shaffer.
Ned was a 1951 graduate of Elkhart High School. He then married Geraldine “Jerry” (Haines) in January 1954, in Adrian, Mich. Ned served our country proudly from 1956 to 1958 in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Creekside Church of the Brethren and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He also was a true Notre Dame fan, as well as a Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox fan.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Geraldine “Jerry” Hostetler; a son, Jeff C. Hostetler; a daughter, Laurie (Dan) Herron; brothers Keith (Doris) Hostetler and Max Hostetler; a sister, Mary Stone; two granddaughters, Arika Herron and Jordan Hostetler; one step-granddaughter, Marisa.; a sister-in-law, Virginia Stites; along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Ned will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Creekside Church of the Brethren, 60455 C.R. 113, Elkhart. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at the church.
Officiating will be Pastor Janet Sue Shaver and Pastor Elizabeth Kelsey.
