CASSOPOLIS, Mich. — Anita J. Born, 93, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Friday morning, Nov. 1, 2013, in the Timbers of Cass County.
Anita was born Jan. 24, 1920, in Mason Township, to Leland and Mildred (Curtis) Lindley. She married Harold O. Born in July 1966 in Niles. He preceded her in death in 1981.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Reid Lindley and Dean Lindley; and three stepsons, Robert Born, Ralph Born and Harry Born.
Anita was a kind and loving person, although she could be opinionated and stubborn. No matter what, she was able to make you laugh. She absolutely loved children and cats. Anita was a follower of the Spiritualist religion and would do anything for anyone.
Anita will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by three stepdaughters, Barbara Jean Perry of Indianapolis, Dorothy Smith of Sturgis and Mary Berkshire of Elkhart, Ind.; three stepsons, Richard Born of Vandalia, Charles Born of Florida and Thomas Born of Cassopolis; numerous stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren; and special friends Penny Mickiewicz and Mickie Mahaffey, both of Cassopolis.
Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, graveside in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Cassopolis, with the Rev. Mardell Wilson officiating. Mrs. Born will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Harold Born.
