MILFORD — James A. “Jim” Mishler, 57, of Milford and formerly of Nappanee, died at 12:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital, where he had been admitted Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, after a sudden illness.
He was born Oct. 18, 1956, in Nappanee, to Chad and Phyllis (Sharp) Mishler.
He lived his lifetime in the Nappanee area. Jim was a 1975 graduate of NorthWood High School.
On July 2, 1995, he married Rose Pamer in Las Vegas.
Jim was a former part owner of Tiara Vans. He was a truck driver and delivered RVs. He was an antique collector. Jim enjoyed fishing and motorcycles. He was a thrillseeker and formerly owned the “Wall of Death,” a motorcycle stunt show. Jim also was a part-time comedian; he enjoyed making people laugh.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Mishler; son Chad M. Mishler of Indianapolis; daughter Jacquelynn Mishler of Syracuse; mother Phyllis B. Mishler of Nappanee; sisters Sandra Mishler Thurn, Rebecca Bailey and Janet Mishler, all of Nappanee; and brothers Michael L. Mishler of Elkhart, Ron (Jill) Mishler and Pat Mishler, both of Nappanee, and Larry (June) Mishler of Alverado, Texas.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, and for one hour prior to the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, all at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. The Rev. Brad Cox will officiate. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to his children’s fund for college, the American Heart Association or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
