ELKHART — Margaret Anna “Marge” (Darga) Evans, 78, unexpectedly passed away in her home Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013.
Marge was born Aug. 25, 1935, in Rogers City, Mich. She was the daughter of the late Anthony Darga and Emelia Romel Darga.
On Oct. 10, 1960, Marge married the love of her life, Ken Evans. He survives.
Also surviving are two children, Kip (Kristen) Evans of Holly, Mich., and Sheri (Pete) Colan of Elkhart; five grandchildren, Amber, Cameron and Kyle Evans of Michigan, and Heather (Tim) Batson and Sarah (Nick) Houser, both of Indiana; one great-grandson, Ethan Batson; and one sister, Anna (Greg) Buckner.
Her son, Kim Evans, preceded her in death in 1967.
Marge was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved unconditionally and made everyone she met feel like part of her family. She enjoyed nurturing her garden, working as a beautician for many years and travelling with her husband. One of her greatest joys in life was being involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Her strong will helped her overcome her battle with ovarian cancer more than 10 years ago. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m. at McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 S.R. 23, Granger — enter off Cherry Road.
