WARSAW — Mary Ann Watkins, 87, formerly of Etna Green, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, where she had resided since 2006.

Mary Ann was born Aug. 29, 1926, in Marshall County to Earl and Daisy Swank Fowler.

She married DeVaun R. “Hap” Watkins on July 7, 1945, in Bourbon. He preceded her in death June 6, 1995.

Mrs. Watkins was a 1945 graduate of Bremen High School and lived her lifetime in this area. She had worked at Holiday Rambler for 23 years. She was a member of Hepton Union Church and a longtime member of Kosciusko County Homemakers Club. She enjoyed attending the Elder Haus in Nappanee and the Red Hat Snappy Nappy’s. Mary was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, shopping, traveling and spending time with family.

Surviving are daughters Linda McConnell of Claypool and Wanda (Paul “Butch”) Troke of Akron; sons Mark (Sharol) Watkins of White Pigeon, Mich., and Seth (Tammy) Watkins of Bourbon; grandchildren Dr. Michael (Tracie) McConnell, Hope (Ben) Maynus, Star Watkins and Seth (Liz) Dylan; four great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Pat Watkins of Etna Green.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Luella Ewart.

Family and friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, prior to the 3 p.m. service at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Pastor Butch Troke will officiate.

Burial will be in Hepton Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Beaver Dam United Methodist Women Card fund.
