EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Loisjean Fackelman, 71, of Edwardsburg, passed to her rest in her home Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, after her second battle with cancer.
Loisjean was born on Feb. 13, 1942, the daughter of John and Thelma (McNabb) Klip in Elkhart, Ind.
In high school she met the “love of her life,” Richard Fackelman.
They were married on Feb. 9, 1963, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Edwardsburg, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
She is survived by their children, Terri (Jim) Archambault of Edwardsburg, Randy (Kathy) Fackelman of Goshen, Ind., and Edward (Debbie) Fackelman of Edwardsburg; and nine grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
Loisjean retired from CTS in Elkhart, after more than 40 years of service. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was very active with Relay for Life.
Family and friends may spend time with the family Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the social hall of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 24832 U.S. 12 East, Edwardsburg. A memorial mass will be Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at 11 a.m. with a time of visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Officiating will be Father Joe McCormick, pastor of the church. Cremation has taken place.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085.
