Feb. 20, 1935 - July 10, 2013

CHANDLER, Ariz. — John William Yeater, 78, of Chandler, died July 10, 2013, following a long battle with cancer.

He was born Feb. 20, 1935, in New Paris, Ind., to Waldo Emerson and Nellie Viola (Ebeling) Yeater.

On Sept. 8, 1956, he married Patricia Elaine Slabaugh.

He resided in Milford, Ind., from 1935 to 1964, in Nappanee, Ind., from 1964 to 1987 and then moved to Chandler. He was a custom kitchen designer and a member of Central Christian Church, Mesa.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Lori Lynn Yeater of Superior, Colo.; sons Larry Lee (Becky) Yeater of Elkhart, Ind., and Michael Jon Yeater of New York; and a brother, Harold Oman Yeater of Mesa.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Wawasee Community Bible Church, Milford, followed by a luncheon and fellowship until 2 p.m.
