CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Marjorie M. Christie, 74, of Chambersburg, passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Sept. 14, 1938, in Elkhart, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Anna Kalman Slack.

A registered nurse, Mrs. Christie worked for a number of years in the former Leader nursing home and then on to Penn Hall for the last 10 years of her career, where she retired in 2010. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Holy Cross School of Nursing in 1960. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and collecting Barbie dolls.

Surviving are four sons, Thomas U. of Chambersburg, Eric E. of Waynesboro, Timothy J. of Shermansdale and Charles M. (Nadine) Christie of Chambersburg; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Ray Slack and Donna Basley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Christie in 2002, and a sister, Barbara Ann McIntire.

Services and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg.
