GOSHEN — Robert Lee Fancil, 83, of Goshen, died at 9:24 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at home.
He was born July 15, 1930, in Elkhart to Lee and Helen (Wade) Fancil.
Surviving are his nieces, Patti Miller of Elkhart and Shelly Holloway and Stacy Hanson, both of Fruitland Park, Fla.
Preceding him in death were his parents; half-sister Belva Jean Miller; a half-brother, Richard Hare; and a niece, Cindra Rosebery.
Robert was a 1948 graduate of Goshen High School, 1952 graduate of Goshen College and a 1956 graduate of Indiana University, with a Master of Arts degree. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War from 1952-1954.
He taught school briefly in Athens, Ohio; Mt. Clemens, Mich.; and for 30 years at Goshen High School. He volunteered for several organizations following his retirement.
There will be no services.
