OSCEOLA — Glen E. Dawson, 81, of Osceola, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013.

The Bremen native was born Aug. 25, 1931, to Fred E. and Rose M. (Martin) Dawson. Both preceded him in death.

Glen served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On April 28, 1957, he married Maxine L. Steele in Elkhart.

He was employed by United Parcel Service (UPS) from 1961 until his retirement in 1989. Glen enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren. He also liked playing golf and fishing, traveling the East and West coasts, and especially enjoyed the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Glen is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Maxine Dawson of Osceola; his son, Mark (Sharon) Dawson of Bristol; daughters April (John) Schultz of Mishawaka and Diane (Mark) Hale of Lakeville; sister Shirley Kay Ballard of Mishawaka; grandchildren Amber Dawson of Elkhart, Matthew Schultz of Mishawaka, Jacob Schultz of Oshkosh, Wis., Joshua Schultz of Osceola, Emily Hale of Lakeville, Cody Dawson of Bristol and Taylor Dawson of Bristol; and his great-grandson, Carter.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, with calling one hour prior to services. Calling will also be Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
