Jane F. Kidder

ELKHART — Jane Frances Kidder passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, July 11, 2013. She was 84 years old.
A Memorial Mass for Jane will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 15, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church.
Jane led an extremely blessed life centered on her faith, her family and her friends. She loved flower gardening and playing cards, especially bridge, which she enjoyed until the very end of her life. She will be remembered for her warm smile, her broad shoulders and the gift of hospitality that ensured no guest would ever leave hungry.
She is survived by her husband, William Kidder; sons Michael (Susan) Rody of Bristol, Joseph (Monica) Rody of Georgetown, Ky., Matthew Rody of Elkhart and David Rody of Seattle; stepsons John (Karen) Kidder and Doug Kidder of Elkhart; daughters Barbara Rozewicz and Elizabeth Butler of Elkhart, Anne Rody of Phoenix, Elaine Wells of Indianapolis, and Margaret (Jeffrey) Thomas of Goshen; stepdaughter Debra (Arthur) Meehan of Goshen; brothers John DeBarbrie of Tiffin, Ohio, and William Ringle of Hawaii; and a sister, Anne Bilger of Bellevue, Ohio.
Jane was also blessed with 31 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom survive her.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lawson; a son Vincent Rody; a sister Marilyn Troup; her father Vincent DeBarbrie; and her mother and stepfather, Janice and George Ringle.
As Jane desired, there will be no formal visitation or viewing. Interment will be at a later date at St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery.
There will be a meal immediately following the Memorial Mass in Vincent Hall at St. Vincent’s Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Vincent DePaul Church or the Center for Hospice Care.
