BRISTOL — Frank Helman, 76, of Bristol, died Friday, July 5, 2013, in his residence.

Frank was born on April 9, 1937, in Elkhart to Gerald and Sophia (Brygider).

He married Barbara Russo on July 4, 1959.

She survives, along with their children, Cynthia A. Boise (Tod) of Carmel, Amy E. Wiltfong (Ryan) of Bristol, Jeffrey P Helman (Jamie) of Mishawaka and David J. Helman; brothers Peter Helman (Janelle) of Atlanta, Stephen Helman of Elkhart and Timothy Helman (Gretchen) of Elkhart; grandchildren Kaley Taylor (Rob), Courtney Schultz (Stockton), Madeline Helman, Emily, Thomas, Joe and Audrey Boise and Jackson, Rylee and Cameron Wiltfong; and great-grandchildren Avalon and Harper Taylor and Navy Schultz.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Mara.

Frank had a long and productive career serving in his hometown of Elkhart, beginning with Elkhart Brass. He advanced to become president with the local firm of Ash Advertising, witnessing the rise of the recreational vehicle industry. He went on to become executive vice president of Atlas Steel Tool & Die, and culminated his career as the owner of his business, North Central Machine.

In retirement, Frank enjoyed the outdoors. He loved gardening, caring for his beautiful lawn and walking on the beach in Fort Myers, Fla. He especially enjoyed his children, grandchildren and was an energetic participant in all their many activities. He and his beloved wife, Barbara, were inseparable.

A Memorial Mass will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2103, at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of the service Tuesday, at the church.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or the American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
