ELKHART — Alice Joy Lovett, 81, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Center for Hospice Care.
Alice was born March 9, 1932, to Chester and Zula (Gillespie) Carlson in Elkhart. On June 10, 1950, she married Arthur R. Lovett. He survives.
Alice is also survived by her daughters, Judy (Timothy) Ferrebe of White Pigeon, Mich., Nancy Kohl of Edwardsburg, Mich., and Connie (Gary) Allan of Valparaiso; brothers Ramon Carlson of Elkhart and Elden Ervin of Glendale, Ariz.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Daisy.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Carlson, and son-in-law Hans Kohl.
She was a homemaker at heart, but also worked at CTS before retiring in 1982. Alice enjoyed traveling, rides in the country, her garden and her dog, Daisy. She was a humble and loving person who always put others first.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. A service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Northside Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery.
