GOSHEN — Janet Mae Miller, 93, of Goshen, passed away Saturday morning, June 8, 2013, at Maples at Waterford Crossing.
She was born Feb. 18, 1920, in Elkhart to John Alexander Knowles and Ellen Victoria (Swanson) Knowles. After graduating from Elkhart High School, she married Ralph Louis (Jack) Miller in Elkhart on July 23, 1939. He died May 22. 1966.
Surviving are a son, John L. Miller of Syracuse; a daughter, Joyce (Darrell) Rider of Bristol; five grandchildren, Shari (William) Lambert of Syracuse, Michele (Sheli) (David) Harmeyer of Glendora, Calif., Shawna (Jeremy) VanLue and Shantel (Aaron) Keith, both of Syracuse, and Darla (Kent) Kauffman of Middlebury; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Jerry Lee Miller; and one sister, Grace Mann.
Mrs. Miller cherished family, friendships and her time as a Bunco and Yahtzee enthusiast. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and was an avid crafter. She was also a Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Blue Bird Camp Fire leader.
After her husband’s passing she worked at Goshen Rubber, Goshen Cushion and Goshen Die.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. Pastor Terry Miller of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church, Goshen, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
