ELKHART — James W. Dubbert, 75, of Elkhart, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, in his home.
He was born Sept. 24, 1937, in Elkhart to Chester and Margaret (Gray) Dubbert.
On Sept. 5, 1970, in Elkhart he married Vicki L. Kidder.
She survives along with two daughters, Teresa (Robert) Wargon and Susan (James) Case, and his mother-in-law, Phyllis Kidder, all of Elkhart. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Justin (Ryann) Herrli, Megan (Kent) Hovarter, Collin Case and Caitlin Case; and four great-grandchildren, Bayleigh, Owen, Wyatt and Landyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Dubbert.
Jim was a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church and a member of Simonton Lake Homeowners Association. He grew up on Simonton Lake and lived there all his life. Jim was in the National Guard from 1957 to 1981. He was the commanding officer at the Elkhart National Guard Armory from 1973 till his retirement in 1981. He retired as a captain.
Jim worked at the Associates and at First Source Bank and for 20 years was a financial adviser for Invest Financial.
Visitation for family and friends will be for one hour prior to the 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, service at St. David’s Episcopal Church. Father Paul Tracy will preside. Cremation has taken place at Elkhart Cremation Services.
Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart.
