ELKHART — Doris P. Knight, 84, a resident of Elkhart, died late Wednesday afternoon, June 5, 2013, in the Eastlake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness, surrounded by her caring and loving family.

Born in Liverpool, England, on March 14, 1929, she was the daughter of the late David Cheshire and Elizabeth May (Dunkeley) Roberts.

On Dec. 8, 1997, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Mishawaka she married her loving husband of 10 years, Larry “John” Knight. He died on Dec. 9, 2007.

Mrs. Knight is survived by her devoted and caring daughter, Cherie L. Goins of Cassopolis, Mich., along with six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two beloved sons, James J. Braddock and Rickey K.E. Hosey; two daughters, Vickie L. Braddock and Laura D. Hosey; and two sisters, Olga Howarth and Lilly Mulock.

Mrs. Knight was not only a devoted mother but also worked for 47 years at CTS before retiring. She was a faithful member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Elkhart.

At the family’s request there will be a private family service to be conducted by Father Daniel S. Repp of St. John’s Episcopal Church, with a graveside service to follow in Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.

Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mrs. Knight to St. John’s Episcopal Church, 226 W. Lexington Ave., Elkhart, IN 46516, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Doris will forever be remembered for her love of her homeland of England and will be missed by her loving family and dear friends. May God grant her eternal rest.

Arrangements for Mrs. Knight were entrusted with Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.
