July 11, 1931 - May 16, 2013

GOSHEN — Phillip Lee Hawn, 81, died in his home Thursday morning, May 16, 2013, of natural causes.

He was born July 11, 1931, in LaPorte to Ernest and Grace (Smith) Hawn.

On Sept. 17, 1955, in Goshen he married Beverly Alfrey.

She survives along with two daughters, Tina (Jim) Mikel of Wakarusa and Shannon (Tom) Perkins of Goshen; two sons, Randy (Paula) Hawn of Cromwell and Adam (Dana) Hawn of Elkhart; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Butch (Marie) Hawn of Kilgore, Texas, and Mike Hawn of Tylare, Calif.; and two half-brothers, Buddy Alfrey of Sweeny, Texas, and Junior Alfrey of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wes Hawn; and a sister, Beverly Godwin.

Mr. Hawn was a longtime area resident and worked at Western Rubber Company. He enjoyed fishing and never met a stranger.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where there will be a 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, funeral service. Pastor Craig Garber will officiate. Burial will follow in New Paris Cemetery.
