Robert was born July 6, 1930, in North Liberty to the late Wilfred and Eva (Mangus) McEndarfer and was a lifelong area resident. On Feb. 24, 1951, he married the former Sharon J. Sexton, who survives.

Mac proudly serviced his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean conflict. He retired from Sears Roebuck Co. after 30 years of service as a service technician. After retiring, Mac and a lifelong friend co-owned Duffer’s Wood Shop.

Mac enjoyed woodworking, mechanical repairing, farming, NASCAR, watching “NCIS” on TV and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and family, whom he loved and cherished.

The family would like to thank their friends, neighbors and Greenleaf Living Care of Elkhart for all their care and support.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Hanley and Sons Southwest Chapel Funeral Home. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service. A graveside military service will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery in South Bend.
