Robert D. Riley

BRISTOL — Robert D. “Bob” Riley, 75, of Bristol, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Feb. 22, 1938, in Caseyville, Ky., to Henry and Louise (Steward) Riley.
On Oct. 6, 1962, in Metropolis, Ill., he married Carolyn R. Slannigan.
She survives along with two daughters, Lisa (David) Riley of Westchester, Ohio, and Robin (Sol) Miller of Seymour, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Christopher Miller, Bradley Miller, Austin Riley, Tyler Miller and Morgan Riley; and a great-grandson, C.J. Miller.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Doug Riley.
Bob was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a member of the Elkhart Art League and was a well-known artist in the Elkhart area. Bob attended Grace Bible Church, loved traveling, gardening, tending to his five acres of land and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He was a retired truck driver and charter bus driver.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Grace Bible Church in Elkhart. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Grace Bible Church. Pastor Mike Fisher will preside. Immediately following the service at the church the USMC Honor Guard and the Elkhart DAV will render military honors. Cremation will follow at Elkhart Cremation Services.
