Margaret T. "Peg" Helmlinger, 80

EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Margaret Teresa “Peg” (Emenaker) Helmlinger, 80, of Edwardsburg, passed to her rest on April 28, 2013, in her home. She went to be with our Lord after an extended illness.
Peg was born June 23, 1932, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of Anthony G. and Ethel G. (Ward) Emenaker.
She had lived in the Edwardsburg area most of her life, graduating from Edwardsburg High School. Peg worked for D & J Industries (Georgie Boy) of Edwardsburg doing industrial sewing for the factory. But most of all, she was a wife, loving mother and grandmother, and homemaker to her family. She enjoyed her family and just being with them. She also liked knitting, sewing and reading.
Peg was married Dec. 16, 1950, in Niles to George L. Helmlinger. He passed May 23, 2003.
Surviving are their children, Joan Kroll and Sharon (Allan) Batson, both of Edwardsburg, and Nancy (Robert) Whittaker of Jimtown, Ind. There are five grandsons, Scott (Debbie) Batson, Tim (Heather) Batson, John Kroll, Kevin Hahn and Jacob Hahn. There are three great-grandsons, Connor, Dylan and Ethan. She leaves a sister, Janet Sue Dixon of Florida; a sister-in-law, Karen Helmlinger of Edwardsburg; two brothers-in law, Ray Helmlinger of Edwardsburg and Michael (Debbie) Helmlinger of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Family who have passed are her husband, George; her parents; two brothers, Thomas and Edward Emenaker; and her husband’s family, Hazel and Bud McNeely, Art and Mary Helmlinger, Virgil Helmlinger, and Norma Jean and George Chew.
Family and friends may gather from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 W. Main St., Edwardsburg. There will be a service of remembrance starting at 7 p.m. conducted by Peg’s son-in-law, Pastor Robert Whittaker of Jimtown. She will be laid to rest in Edwardsburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085. The family thanks Hospice for all their love and care.
