James S. Parker

NAPPANEE — James S. Parker, 66, of Nappanee, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital after fighting a battle with cancer for seven years.
He was born Aug. 21, 1946, in Kenton, Ga., to James A. Parker and Iona (Whaley) Moore. He was a lifetime area resident and worked at Holiday Rambler for 40 years. Jim loved to fish for walleye and he enjoyed gardening. He married Jeannie Shields on Aug. 3, 1974, in Bremen.
She survives along with daughters Margie (Scott) Slusser of Syracuse and Carissa (Bruce) Bordner of Nappanee; grandchildren Cassidy Parker, Kai Slusser, Destiny Hossler and Kendra Bordner; three sisters; and a brother.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may visit the family from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Father Bob Lengerich will officiate. Burial will follow in South Union Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the James S. Parker Memorial Fund.
