JOLIET, Ill. — Rita C. Riendeau, (nee Madlinska), 93, of Joliet and formerly of Elkhart, Ind., wife of the late Louis Riendeau, died April 5, 2013.

Final arrangements are being handled by The Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois.

Mrs. Riendeau is survived by her sons, Daniel (Claudia) Langan and David (Barbara) Langan; her sister, Alice Jones; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Madlinska; mother Amelia Madlinska; two infant sisters, Clara and Emily; sister Irene Collett; sister Eleanor Dollar; and brother Harry Madlin.

Mrs. Riendeau was born in Bridgeport. She was a retired secretary at the American Wood Preservers Bureau in Virginia. She was a foster mother to two infant boys and an American Cancer Society and the Public Health Department of Elkhart volunteer.

On March 23, 2013, Mrs. Riendeau was the guest of honor at a celebration of her life, attended by her family and friends at Sunny Hill Nursing Center of Will County.
