BRISTOL — Annabelle Ferree Curtis, 88, of Bristol, peacefully passed away in her sleep on Saturday, April 6, 2013.

Annabelle was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Lakeville to Joseph and May (Woolet) Ferree (Ferrari).

She married Robert “Bob” Curtis on Aug. 19, 1966. They made their home in Edwardsburg, Mich., on Pleasant Lake.

Annabelle was preceded in death by her husband (born Dec. 20, 1927, died April 13, 2000); her parents; and her son, Sonny Hamman.

She is survived by those that loved and will miss her, sister Mary Frances Fallis of Bowie, Texas; daughters Frances Anne Curtis of Niles, Mich., Brenda of Michigan and Mary (Bob) Wiley of Bristol; stepchildren Barbara Stakowski and Sheila (Bob) Smiedendorf, both of Niles; her many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Deep and heartfelt gratitude is given to her devoted caregivers including her daughter, Mary and Bob Wiley; grandsons Tony and Julie Ross and Michael and Heidi Wiley; and good friend Cheryl Anderson.

We will always remember Annabelle as a special person with a love for all things natural. It was never necessary to ask her a second time to go fishing, bird watching or simply to go for a walk to enjoy nature or prepare an Italian spaghetti dinner for family and friends. When the weather made indoor pursuits more appealing she would eagerly work on her quilting, crocheting or painting ceramics and teaching any and all who wanted to learn and share her interests.

If you have a memory to share with the family, you can mail it to Annabelle Curtis Memories, 54627 C.R. 27, Bristol, IN 46507.

Annabelle, you will be alive in our hearts and memories forever.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, in Edwardsburg Cemetery.
