ELKHART — Bea E. Austin, 91, of Elkhart, went home to be with her Lord Monday, Feb. 25, 2013.

She was born Feb. 27, 1921, in Orland to Herman and Emily (Boardman) Davis.

She married John E. Austin on Aug. 24, 1940. They were married for 56 years before he preceded her in death in 1996.

Survivors include one son, John (Rhonda) Austin; four daughters, Nancy (John) Rinker, Jean (Mike) Elder, V. Kay (Brad) Rines and Jackie (Stan) Treadway; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was co-owner, with her husband, of Austin Construction and Austin Laundromat. They were founding members of Northside Baptist Church in Elkhart. She continued to serve the Lord “all the days of her life” in different ministries. She enjoyed her family and helping others.

Visitation will be for two hours prior to the 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, service at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing with the Rev. Carl Henry of Northside Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery.
