FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Truman A. “Skip” Cox III, 44, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013.

Mr. Cox was born in Elkhart, Ind., and went to Concord High School. He served with the U.S. Coast Guard and was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. He was the master distiller at A. Smith Bowman Distillery, Fredericksburg. Mr. Cox was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha at Florida Tech. He was an avid deer hunter and motorcycle enthusiast. He had an unmistakable passion for life, family and bourbon-making.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Quinn Cox; daughter Emerson Cox; parents Truman Allen Jr. and Joanne Cox; sisters Shannon Roff (Ron) and Rachelle Camacho of Goshen, Ind.; and nephews Jacob, Kyle and Connor.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at a later date in Florida.
