GOSHEN — Veda E. “Libby” Christner, 94, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 5, 2013, at Greencroft Goshen Health Care, where she was recovering from an accident.

She was born June 12, 1918, in LaGrange County to Atlee “Pink” and Eva Rue (Donat) Wemple.

She married Verlo E. Christner in 1938 in LaGrange County.

She is survived by a daughter, Vicky Christner of Goshen; four grandchildren, Mitzi Jaenichen of Elkhart, Melanie (Mark) Farver of Goshen, Mark Mickem of Topeka and Mick Mickem of Syracuse; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter Mary Ruth Mickem; and sister Dorothy Myers.

A lifetime resident of the area, she worked at Turner Pharmacy and Combined Insurance Agency in Topeka. She enjoyed many activities including travelling, camping, mushroom hunting and knitting. She was also a great cook.

Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory, with burial in Eden Cemetery at a later date.
