MIDDLEBURY — Donald Wayne Shoup, 83, of Middlebury, died at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at his residence, after a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 23, 1930, in Fort Wayne to Vernon and Mary (Teeters) Shoup. On Oct. 8, 1950, in Wakarusa, he married Shirley Yoder; she survives.

Other survivors include sons James (Sally) Shoup of Pendleton, Michael Shoup of Sterling, Va., and Bruce (Beth Anne) Shoup of Mishawaka; six grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Jennifer, Tyler, Austin and Curtis; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his grandchildren, Will Shoup, Andrew Shoup, Katherine Shoup; and granddaughter-in-law, Jenn Shoup.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury, where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Pastor John Hogsett of Elkhart Faith United Methodist Church will preside. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
