ELKHART — Leonard Culbreath, 65, departed this life Monday, Jan. 7, 2013. After battling an illness, he went home to be with the Lord.
Leonard was born May 24, 1947, to the late Vanders and Virgie Culbreath in Mason, Tenn.
He accepted Christ at an early age at Salem Baptist Church in Mason.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1965, where he served two years and was honorably discharged.
He moved to Elkhart in 1968 and received employment at Dexter Axle, where he remained employed for 39 years until his retirement in 2009.
Leonard was a very humble man who loved his family dearly. His enjoyment was fishing, playing cards and hanging with his friends.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Vanders and Virgie Culbreath; one sister, Mary Culbreath; and one brother, Larry Culbreath.
Leonard leaves to cherish his special memories three brothers, Lawrence (Bernice) Culbreath of Elkhart, Michael Culbreath of Mason and Charles M. Culbreath of Henning, Tenn.; two sisters, Esther L. Culbreath of Elkhart and Eula Culbreath of Covington, Tenn.; two special friends, Jack Medford and Charlie Woolwine; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces as well as other relatives and friends.
Services will be at noon Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at New Vision of Life Church, 400 W. Mishawaka Road, Elkhart, with visitation from 11 a.m. to noon at the church.
