GOSHEN — Catherine J. Zurek, 60, of Goshen, died at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, in her residence.

She was born on Oct. 11, 1952, in Chicago, to Chester and Rose (Budy) Kroll.

On Aug. 19, 1972, in Holy Cross Cathedral, Chicago, she married Thomas Zurek. He survives.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Amanda (Sean Cleland) Zurek of Goshen and Jaclyn (Aaron) Irions of Bristol; a son, Victor (Joanna) Zurek of Goshen; three grandchildren; her mother, Rose Kroll of Elkhart; a sister, Rose Conroy of Winfield, Ill.; and her special companion, the family pet, Bosco.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Cathy, with her husband, was the founder and operator of Tape Technology and Panel Solutions of Elkhart.

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in education and was an artist, having painted one of the “ELKS” for the Elkhart County Elks on Parade for CAPS. Cathy was an artist and animal lover, and she enjoyed spending time in Florida and Chicago with her family and friends.

She had also worked for The Truth newspaper as a special event coordinator.

A time of remembrance is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury.
