EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Joseph Lynn Cronin, 69, of Edwardsburg, passed to his rest Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Center for Hospice Care, South Bend, Ind., after a brief illness.

Joe was born Jan. 15, 1943, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of the late LeRoy and Thelma (Miller) Cronin.

He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School.

He had been employed as an auto mechanic at Specialized in South Bend from 1961 to 2001 and then at Tom Naquin’s in Elkhart, Ind., until his illness about nine weeks ago.

Joe served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

His greatest love was for his children and grandchildren, but he dearly loved his dog, Heidi, too.

He enjoyed working at Tom Naquin’s and loved his fellow workers.

His pleasure was living in Edwardsburg on Pleasant Lake.

Joe fell in love with Nancy (Bright) Fritsche of Edwardsburg, in 1972, and they were married in 1982.

Nancy survives with their children, Cathy (David) Woodill, George Fritsche and Joe (Annette) Fritsche, all of Edwardsburg and seven loving grandchildren, Anthony, Amanda and Emily Woodill, Samantha (Marty) Nielson, Mike Fritsche and Chris Fritsche plus Ashley Fritsche. There are two great-grandchildren, Brock Nielson and Mayla Fritsche.

Friends and family may gather from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 W. Main St., where a Service of Remembrance will begin at 3 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Scott Scheel, pastor of Edwardsburg Presbyterian Church.

Burial will follow in Edwardsburg Cemetery with the U.S. Army Honor Guard playing taps and folding the American flag.
