BRISTOL — Daniel R. “Dan” Rohrer, 68, of Bristol, passed away at 9:16 p.m. Oct. 23, 2012, at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born Jan. 7, 1944, in Elkhart to Richard and Eileen (Ryan) Rohrer.

On June 28, 1969, in Elkhart, he married Diana E. Vargo.

She survives along with three children, Danielle R. Garcia of Bristol, Darren D. Rohrer of Warsaw and Dawn (Chris) Cubbernuss of Cassopolis, Mich.; and three grandchildren, Aurelio, Isabela and Brandon. Also surviving are his mother, Eileen Rohrer of Elkhart; and a sister, Diana (Richard) Kuhn of Bremen.

His father, Richard Rohrer, preceded him in death.

Dan graduated in 1962 from Elkhart High School.

He was a member of the U.S. National Guard.

He was a member of Creekside Church of the Brethren.

He enjoyed bowling and golfing.

Dan was formerly employed at The Selmer Co. for 23 years and was the owner of Dan’s Lawn Service where he was known as Dan the Lawn Mower Man.

A celebration of life gathering will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Creekside Church of the Brethren, 60455 C.R. 113, Elkhart, IN. Pastor Rosanna McFadden and Pastor Betty Kelsey will officiate the service.

Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral home is entrusted with arrangements.

Burial has taken place in Prairie Street Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
