HILDA, S.C. — Mary Schrock, 87, of Hilda, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012, at her home.
She was born June 24, 1924, to Ezra and Susie Miller in Elkhart (Ind.) County. As a girl, her family owned and operated the cider mill in Middlebury, Ind. In 1942, she married Menno J. Schrock, who died in 1993.
Surviving are 10 daughters, Marilyn (Andy) Miller of Indiana, Marjorie (Dennis) Stoll of South Carolina, Mariette (Floyd) Lengacher of Indiana, Merlene (Larry) Wingard of Oklahoma, Mildred (Robert) Carroll of British Columbia, Canada, Martha (David) Miller of Oklahoma, Marita (Vernon) Huyard of Pennsylvania, Miriam Schrock of Pennsylvania, Madonna (Sheldon) Schrock of Ohio and Lori Washington of Virginia; four sons, Marion (Fannie) Schrock of Ohio, Melvin (Ina) Schrock of South Carolina, Marvin Schrock of Arizona and Mervin Schrock of South Carolina; 54 grandchildren; and 78 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Elva (Wilbert) Kropf of Oregon and Ruth (Ben) Hostetler of Missouri; and a brother, Harvey (Rosemary) Miller of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lena Headings and Alta Headings; and five brothers, Alton, David, Stanley, Joe and Vernon.
Funeral services were May 6 at the Barnwell Mennonite Church, where she was a member.
