SHIPSHEWANA -- Fannie Schlabach, 84, of Shipshewana, died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 26, 2011) at home.
She was born Jan. 6, 1927, in Nottawa, Mich., to Joas N. and Mary S. (Wickey) Troyer. On Dec. 5, 1946, she married Ervin S. Schlabach. He survives.
Sons Orla (Mary), Joas (Katie), Elmer (Maribeth) and Ervin Jr. (Betty) Schlabach; daughters LeAnna (Daniel) Herschberger, Barbara (Noah) Beechy, Susie (Vernon) Miller, Mary (LaVern) Beechy, Katie (Dan) and Ruthie (Devon) Miller; daughter-in-law Ruby (Ora) Miller; brothers Sam (Betsy), Johnny (Mary), Orla (Barbara) and Perry (Erma) Troyer and Willard (Mary) Bender; and sisters Barbara (Harvey) Lehman, Edna Wickey, Susie (Willis) Hostetler and Ruthie (Herman) Schmucker survive.
Son Samuel Schlabach; stepmother Mary Troyer; sister Lidianna Kauffman; and brothers Dan, Amzie and David Troyer and Elmer Jr. and LaVern Bender preceded her in death.
Visitation is after 2 p.m. today and all day Friday at the LaVern Beechy home, 5580 West 200 North, Shipshewana, with 9:30 a.m. services Saturday. Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Miller-Stewart Funeral Home.
