OSCELOA -- Rick Lee Perkins, 53, of Osceola, died at 7:38 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 9, 2010) at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Nov. 2, 1957, in Osceola to Orville W. and Aleta M. (Longfield) Perkins. On Oct. 10, 1980, in Osceola, he married Jean A. Bauwens. She died on Oct. 1, 2006, in Osceola.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary A. (Michael ) Clark of Elkhart and Nicole M. (Nikalos) Potts of Mishawaka, and two sons, Jeremiah L. Perkins of Muncie and Benjamin L. (Candace Baecher) Perkins of Osceola. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Christopher, Carson and Charles; his father, Orville W. Perkins of Osceola; and three brothers, Gary L. (Theresa) Perkins, Dan (Tina) Perkins and Kenneth (Mary) Perkins, all of Osceola. Preceding him in death was his wife and mother.
Rick graduated in 1976 from Penn High School. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his grandchildren. He was formerly employed as a master technician and mechanic in the RV and truck industries.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home in Osceola and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Osceola United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Robert Vale will preside, and cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
