NOTRE DAME — The quarterback who led Notre Dame to the national championship game last season is no longer enrolled at the school.

News first broke of Everett Golson’s departure Saturday night, May 25, when WNDU’s Angelo Di Carlo Tweeted: “Notre Dame confirms to WNDU that quarterback Everett Golson is no longer enrolled at ND. They can’t say why due to privacy laws.”

Notre Dame spokesperson Dennis Brown confirmed that Golson was gone, according to South Bend Tribune writer Eric Hansen. Other sources told The Chicago Tribune that Golson’s unenrollment is tied to a Res Life issue, which may tie to an honor code violation, according to Blue & Gold Illustrated.

Golson threw 12 touchdowns and six interceptions in his first season as a starter at Notre Dame. He leaves on the tail of fellow quarterback Gunner Kiel, who transferred from Notre Dame to Cincinnati in March.
