SOUTH BEND — Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees is scheduled to appear in court at 8 a.m. May 17, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.

Rees, 19, is facing four misdemeanor charges — battery, two counts of resisting law enforcement and minor consumption — following an altercation with police at an off-campus party early Thursday morning.

Rees allegedly ran from police who arrived at the party and kneed a pursuing officer in the midsection. Teammate Carlo Calabrese, 21, was also arrested on a preliminary misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.

As of Friday afternoon, Calabrese’s charges had not yet been decided.
