 NorthWood High School football teams of 1969 and 1974 will be honored this season at Andrews FIeld.

The team from 1969 will be recognized Friday. Sept. 5, with the 1974 team saluted Friday, Sept. 26.

Penn roars past Elkhart Central, while Goshen improves to 8-0 and Fairfield to 4-0.

 Fairfield Falcons will play host to NorthWood for the first time on the football field Friday, Aug. 29.

It’s been a 20-minute drive for 45 years, but the Panthers and Falcons play in all sports but football.

The coach is in his first season and was named following his team’s win over Jimtown on Friday night.

High school football kicked off under [rainy] Friday night lights. 

 The Mangy Lion Trophy currently resides on 1 Blazer Blvd., home of the Elkhart Central Blue Blazers. Central will travel crosstown to rival Elkhart Memorial on Friday, Aug. 22.

Elkhart Central has owned the trophy for two years, but Elkhart Memorial is playing at home in 2014.
