Elkhart County included in northern Indiana hazardous weather outlook for Monday

The heat index in northern Indiana could reach 100 degrees this afternoon, with high humidity and thunderstorms also expected.

The National Weather Service is predicting particularly hot and humid weather for Elkhart County and surrounding areas in northern Indiana Monday, Aug. 25. 

A hazardous weather outlook from NWS says peak afternoon heat index could range from 90 to 100 degrees. There’s also a chance of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall through the afternoon and evening. 

This weather will affect northern Indiana, northwest Ohio and southwest lower Michigan.
