A line of thunderstorms moving through Elkhart County early Wednesday morning brought lots of thunder and lightning but caused little damage.

The Elkhart County 911 Center received only one call for storm damages early Wednesday, May 21. The caller reported a tree down in the roadway on C.R. 15, dispatchers said.

As of 6 a.m., Indiana Michigan Power was reporting 197 Elkhart County customers without power. Only one NIPSCO customer was without power.

The National Weather Service predicts the storms will be mostly over by 8 a.m. High temperatures will reach around 80 degrees with skies clearing as the day goes on.

Sunshine is in the forecast for the rest of the week. Highs will only reach around 68 degrees Thursday, but temperatures will rise leading up to the Memorial Day weekend.
