Potentially severe weather predicted through Tuesday night

The National Weather Service is forecasting that wind, hail and other severe weather could make its way to the area by tonight.

The National Weather Service is reporting a chance of showers and potentially severe thunderstorms this evening and into the overnight hours.

Damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall are possible in Northern Indiana and southwest lower Michigan. Severe storms are most likely between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m, according to a Facebook post.

In Elkhart County, there’s a 30 percent chance of wind and hail and a five percent chance of tornado activity. The greatest risk for severe storms is after sunset, NWS reports.

The highest probability of storm activity is near the southern Michigan border.
