The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Elkhart County and surrounding counties early Friday morning, April 4.
Following a cold front moving into the area Friday afternoon, wind speeds could reach 25 to 30 mph, with gusts increasing to 45 to 50 mph Friday evening, the weather service said. Windy conditions will continue into the night, but are expected to diminish during it.
The weather service warned high winds could make travel difficult – loose objects could be blown into streets, tree branches could fall and power outages are possible.
The wind advisory will be in effect from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
